How can we help?
The answers to the usual questions are below. For anything else, email us; a person reads it and answers within a few days.

Questions, ideas, something broken, a receipt you need again. Tell us which app and which phone, and what you saw.

The apps on your phone
How do I put an app on my phone?
Open the app in your phone's browser, then add it to the home screen. There's no app store step.
iPhone, Safari: tap Share (the square with the arrow up), scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, tap Add.
Android, Chrome: tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, tap Add to Home Screen or Install app, tap Add.
Computer, Chrome or Edge: click the install icon in the address bar, then Install.
After that it opens from the home screen like any other app, full screen, and works with no signal.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. Every app runs on the phone itself. Open it once with signal so the phone has it; after that it works in a basement, a back lot or the woods. What you save while offline goes up to your account the next time the phone has signal.
Where is my work saved?
On your phone first, in the browser's storage for that app. Signed in, it also saves to your Fancy Digital account, so a new phone or the web sees the same jobs. Clearing the browser's site data, or deleting the app from the home screen, removes the phone's copy; the account's copy stays until you delete the account.
Is there a backup?
Every app has a backup file in its menu. It saves everything the app holds to a file you keep (on an iPhone it opens the share sheet: pick Save to Files). The file always loads back in, account or not. Save one before you change phones or clear the browser.
Which phones and browsers work?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a current browser: Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome on Android and computers, Edge and Firefox too. A browser more than a couple of years old may not run everything.

What does the free account do?
It's free, always, and it never needs a card to create. It saves your work to the account, lets a new phone pick up where the old one left off, and it's what you unlock apps on. Until Monday, Nov 9, 2026 it also unlocks every app; after that the paid apps take a purchase.
Why are the numbers blurred?
That app is locked on this phone. Either it hasn't been unlocked yet, or you signed in on another phone (one sign-in holds one phone). Sign in on this phone from the app's menu, or unlock it on the account site. Everything you typed is still there; it shows the moment the app is unlocked.
How do I cancel?
On the account site, under your plans, or from the app's menu. It's as easy as signing up. No refunds; you keep the time you paid for and it doesn't renew. Your saved work stays on your phone and your account.
I got charged. Where's my receipt?
Stripe emails a receipt for every charge to the email on your account. You also get a reminder email the day before a monthly renewal and 30 days before a yearly one. Can't find one? Email us from the account's address and we'll send it again.
Can I use one account on two phones?
One sign-in holds one phone at a time. Sign in on the second phone and the first shows blurred numbers the next time it checks in, until it signs in again. Sign out and back in whenever you switch.
How do I delete my account?
On the account site, Delete Account removes the account, cancels any plan, and wipes everything saved to it, in every app, at once. It can't be undone. What's on your phone stays on the phone until you clear it.
I forgot my password.
On the account site, tap Forgot password; a code goes to your email. If you no longer have that email, write to us from the one you do have and tell us the old one.
The apps
Numbers, drawings and code
Can I trust the numbers?
Check them. The apps do the math on what you type and draw it so you can see where every number came from, but they can't see your lumber, your site or your plans, and lumber isn't perfect. Your plans, your local code and your inspector decide; the apps' sizes for strength come from the IRC tables and say so. You're responsible for what you cut and buy.
Something came out wrong.
Email us what you typed, what the app showed, and what you expected, with the app's name and your phone. A screenshot helps. We read every one.
Is my data sold or used for ads?
No. There are no ads and no trackers in any app, and nothing is sold or shared. What goes to the account is what you save there, reachable only with your sign-in. The privacy policy has the full list.
Can I ask for a feature?
Yes, please. Email what you'd use and how. Many of what's in the apps now started as a note like that.
